Conservation Work and Advocacy

Through my work in environmental advocacy, I've discovered that I have a strong ability to connect with the public about nature on a large and far-reaching scale.
The natural world, the arts, and working with the public are my strongest passions in life. Conservation and the environment, and protecting the incredible species we share this planet with, are of utmost importance to me. I love sharing the joy of nature with others, and helping to spark their curiosity and cultivate a sense of care for wildlife.
Now, more than ever, I feel a responsibility to reach as many people as I can to help them understand more about the natural world and inspire them to support the protection of it. My strategy is sharing information through storytelling with utmost enthusiasm, passion, and kindness. I firmly believe that everyone has the ability to make positive changes in their everyday lives, from young children to those well into adulthood.
I've spoken on behalf of wildlife in many diverse situations. I have acted as a naturalist tour guide on boat tours, where I narrated the history of seabird restoration efforts in Maine to as many as hundreds of people a day. On these tours, I informed people about conservation and natural history, and how we can all help make positive changes for the environment. I've also relayed this information to numerous people while representing conservation groups at both public and private donor events, and while helping to run nature centers and visitor centers.
Currently, I speak on behalf of wildlife to many diverse audiences, including at public libraries throughout New York City. I also advocate through my newsletter writing, informative social media posts, educational program design, and other forms of community engagement and outreach.
